PD Dr. Arijit Biswas
Group Leader
Arijit is one of the most passionate among us when it comes to structural analyses, and hence is the driving force of the group. Amongst us, he has professional expertise in computational biology, he manages the in-silico work-flow. He has secured his PhD from AIIMS, New Delhi-India, and joined IHT-Bonn as a postdoctoral fellow in 2008. After his academic habilitation in 2015, he presently holds the position of Staff Scientist (Sr.) in the IHT-Bonn. Arijit loves watching movies and playing Cricket.!

Prof. Dr. med. Johannes Oldenburg
Head and Director, Institute of Experimental Hematology and Transfusion Medicine
Prof. Johannes Oldenburg, is a world renowned hematologist and Scientist. He currently serves as the Director of the institute of Experimental Hematology and Transfusion medicine. His energy, passion and good-to-go attitude keeps everyone motivated and focused. He has been solely responsible for providing state-of-art infrastructure at the institute, and we feel privileged to work under his tutelage, that led us to evolve as the Biswas lab in IHT-Bonn. His Research focusses on of blood coagulation factors (focus in haemophilia), vitamin K pathway (Genetics of VKCFD2 phenotype, discovery of VKORC1). Over years, he has presided a several global congresses such as ISTH, GTH etc. We thank and acknowledge him for his endless support.

Dr. Sneha Singh
Postdoctoral researcher
Dr. Sneha Singh joined our group in 2014 as a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Oldenburg and the direct mentorship of Dr. Biswas. During her PhD, she worked on structural characterization of the coagulation FXIII complex which yielded her a PhD degree. She is trained at the MPI Biophysics, CAESER Bonn and is in close collaboration with Prof Imhof (Pharmacy Institute), all these years. She is presently working on networking of FXIII and Fibrinogen with her self-funded projects. We wish her all the best in her plans and future endeavors.

Haroon Javed, M.Sc.
Ph.D. Student
Haroon has joined the Arijit Biswas lab in 2020, under a DFG program. He is presently working on the structure-functional characterization of FXIII-A and FXIII-B subunit missense mutations, looking deeply at the impact of mild FXIII deficiency among humans. Coming as a cell-biologist, he is now slowly transforming into an RDT specialist here. His hobbies are playing squash, which keeps him fit, alert and consumed, just like his thesis!

Samhitha Urs R, M.Sc.
Ph.D. Student
Samhitha has joined the Arijit Biswas lab in 2020. She is presently working on the structural characterization of the FVIII B-domain. She has a strong background in protein structural biochemistry. An ardent learner who is developing dry-lab and wet-lab skills at the same time now, along the course of her Ph.D. Additionally, she has learned and mastered Indian Classical-Carnatic vocal music.
